Last Night a 39 year old ex Army Sergeant who fought in Bosnia was shot by Callous Thugs when he told them there was no money at a Pub in which he is Landlord.
Terry Stewart, based in Leeds was setting up for the evening at the Elm Tree Public House on Toward Road when at 6.15pm 4 men, one of which was armed with a sawn off shotgun burst into his Pub and demanded he handed money over, to which Mr Stewart replied that there wasn’t any.
Terry’s time in the army was spent dealing with hostage situations so it was lucky that he was able to try and calm down the situation rather than incite with robbers which could of left Mr Stewart dead.
One of the men who was described by Mr Stewart as 5”10 and wearing a dark track suit and blue jeans, then shot Mr Stewart in the leg and the other men ransacked the pub stealing the float from the till and bottles of spirit.
Mr Stewart’s wife Jill 38 said “I have never been so terrified; Terry was lying on the floor. I could see he was bleeding” She also added “how lucky they had been” Jill is an ex nurse and administered first aid on her husband. It has been revealed that if she had not done this further damage would have occurred to Mr Stewart’s leg.
The police have urged people with any information on the incident or the attackers to contact Leeds Centre CID on 0113 222222 with the upmost confidence.
